Terms of Use
PRI™ Photonic Reverse Imaging is an entertainment application. It does not actually capture photographs through your monitor. No real imaging technology is used. The "photos" displayed are pre-loaded humorous images selected at random. By using this application, you acknowledge that it is a joke.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the PRI™ Photonic Reverse Imaging System ("the Application," "Monitor Camera," or "PRI"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use immediately and power down your photon receptors.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("the User," "Subject," or "Photon Donor") and PRI™ ("we," "us," or "the Entity Behind the Curtain").
Description of Service
PRI™ is a comedic entertainment application that simulates a fictional photonic reverse imaging process. The application:
- Presents a realistic-looking scientific interface for entertainment purposes
- Displays pre-loaded humorous images (typically animals) as the "captured photo"
- Does not access your camera, webcam, or any imaging hardware
- Does not capture, record, or transmit any photographs of you
- Does not use any form of "photonic reverse imaging" — that technology does not exist
Acceptable Use
You may use PRI™ for the following purposes:
- Personal entertainment and amusement
- Sharing with friends, family, and colleagues for a laugh
- Demonstrating that monitors cannot, in fact, take your photo
- Settling debates about whether screens can "see" you
You agree not to:
- Represent PRI™ as genuine surveillance or imaging technology
- Use the application to cause genuine distress or anxiety to others
- Claim that the displayed images are actual photographs of any person
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the application's clearly fictional algorithms
- File a bug report stating "it showed me a monkey instead of my face"—that is the intended behavior
Intellectual Property
All content within PRI™ — including the interface design, fictional technical terminology, fake patent numbers, and comedic image captions — is the intellectual property of PRI™ or its licensors.
The term "Photonic Reverse Imaging" is a fictional concept created for entertainment. Any resemblance to actual scientific processes, living or dead, is purely coincidental and frankly impressive.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- The accuracy of any "sensor readings" displayed (they are entirely fictional)
- The reliability of the "Photon Detection Array" (it does not exist)
- The quality of your "captured photo" (you will receive a funny animal, not your face)
- Compatibility with actual photonic imaging equipment (should any ever exist)
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PRI™ be liable for any damages arising from the use of this application, including but not limited to:
- Emotional distress caused by being shown a clown instead of your face
- Social consequences of sharing your "photo" with friends or colleagues
- Existential crises triggered by questioning whether monitors can actually see you
- Loss of productivity due to repeatedly pressing "NEW CAPTURE" to see all the animals
- Damage to your ego, self-image, or monitor (please do not hit your screen)
Third-Party Content & Services
The humorous images displayed by PRI™ may be sourced from third-party providers. These images are used for comedic purposes. We make no claims regarding the willingness of the animals depicted to participate in this prank.
PRI™ uses the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — for collecting anonymized usage statistics to help us understand how many people have fallen for this
- Google AdSense — for serving advertisements on the site. These ads may be personalized based on your browsing history
- Google Fonts — for loading the typefaces that make our fake science look convincing
These services are governed by Google's own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. If an ad tries to sell you an actual photonic reverse imaging device, we assure you it is also not real.
Advertising
PRI™ displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense. By using this application, you acknowledge that:
- Advertisements may appear on the site and are served by Google, not by PRI™
- Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings
- We do not control the content of advertisements and are not responsible for advertiser claims
- Clicking on an ad will take you to an external site governed by that site's own terms
- We cannot guarantee that the ads will be as entertaining as being shown a random animal photo
Analytics & Cookies
PRI™ uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including page views, session duration, device type, and general geographic location. This information helps us understand how the application is used.
By using PRI™, you consent to the use of cookies by Google Analytics and Google AdSense. You may disable cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For full details on what data is collected, please see our Privacy Policy.
Consent
By using PRI™, you consent to:
- The use of Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data
- The use of Google AdSense to display advertisements, including personalized ads based on cookies
- The storage of cookies on your device by these third-party services
- Being shown a picture of an animal instead of your own face (this remains non-negotiable)
If you do not consent to the use of cookies and analytics, you may disable cookies in your browser settings. The application will still function, but Google will be very disappointed.
Screen Flash Warning
PRI™ includes a full-screen white flash effect that simulates a camera flash. Users who are sensitive to bright lights or who have photosensitive conditions should exercise caution. You may wish to reduce your screen brightness before initiating a capture sequence.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of PRI™ after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will not notify you of changes because, honestly, you probably did not read these terms in the first place.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of whichever jurisdiction finds them the most amusing. Any disputes shall be resolved through the ancient art of staring at your monitor and hoping for the best.
